Making $30 into $3000
  TizmoUK, Feb 14 2010

Hi,

i have been playing SNG with the left over $30 i had on Pokerstars after moving my roll to FT. I have decided to set myself a challenge of turning this $30 into $3000 at the end of the year! Big challenge for such a small player such as my self...

Anyway I have just finished my 1st week, i played 119 $1.10 9 man sng and mad3 $30 profit cashing in over half. I also made it onto the high orbit SNG leader board in 68th earning myself a $5 bonus. Not much but 4 BI is better than nothing lol.

I have found out that i seem to lose heads up a lot, and this is dragging my profit down so is something i need to work on.

So i have doubled my roll, but that not anywhere near enough games if im going to have any chance of making my target so intend on playing heavily over the coming weeks.

I have decided not to move up limits until i reach $100 to help give me around 30 BI for the next level.

Thats pretty much it! Bog in a week

Live Poker to build the roll
  TizmoUK, Jan 20 2010

Well as you may know i don't really stick to bankroll management went it comes to live poker because i play them to learn, and if i did use BR management id never be able to play!!

Anyway after coming 22nd out of 71 players in the £10 freeze out at my local casino i decided to sit down at the pot limit hold em cash table of £1/£1 blinds.

most of the guys sitting at the table were the same old faces id played before, so i was able to get a feel for how they play straight away, however there were two new faces at the table.

These two players were very drunk and had sat down with the table maximum of £250... well how could i resist. i sat down with £100 and started to see how things would play out.

Turns out in the 1st few hands i get AK and raise in EP, folds to button(a very loose aggressive player) who re-raises me the BB calls, i re-raise, button calls and BB decided to fold.

on a flop of A K 10 i shove and get called by the button who holds pocket tens... oops...A on turn followed by ace on river means im a very lucky boy!

after about an hour of playing no hands i wake up with 44 in the BB, there's several limpers so i check to see a cheap flop. on a flop of 4 5 K, 1st player(very drunk) bets pot, two callers to me, i re- pot which is enough to make the pot around £200, initial raiser snap calls all in! everyone else folds. he tables 7 8, turn brings a blank the river is a 6... what goes around comes around i guess...

after a few up and down pots throughout the night i end up £250 in profit. i hit an open ended straight flush draw against top set and hit my flush on the turn, which the guy paid me off with so was very happy!

hopefully online goes the same but so far after 2000 hands have only made 2 buy -ins, yes only $20... lol

Getting back into the game
  TizmoUK, Jan 11 2010

Well as seems to be the trend with me, I haven't blogged in around 7 months. This s mostly due to the lack of hands I've managed to put in within this time.

Well since my last blog have managed to grind my roll up to $400... very very slow progress. However at least i am starting to feel more confident about my game especially since Mayzerg is coaching me.

Plan on playing a lot more, hopefully study will not get in the way

Will try to blog more often...
